''Bruce me dijo '¿Quieres probar algo diferente?'

David Beckham has claimed he can't pick a favourite ahead of tonight's Champions League clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid.

The former Galacticos spent four seasons in the Spanish capital, winning a La Liga title at the Santiago Bernabeu before moving to America and the LA Galaxy.

During his time in the MLS, Beckham spent time on loan at AC Milan, and also trained with Spurs ahead of a proposed loan deal which failed to materialise in January.

The two sides meet tonight in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final, but the England veteran admitted he has split loyalties over the fixture and refuses to pick a winner.

"I played for Real Madrid for four years and I've always said that I would support them,'' said Beckham.

''But I was also with Spurs, so there are mixed emotions because my granddad was a fan. I'm just going to enjoy the game."

Focusing back on the MLS, and Galaxy boss Bruce Arena is happy to play Beckham in a central midfield role after turning to the 35-year-old in the match against Philadelphia Union.

A man-of-the-match performance followed in a 1-0 win for ten-man Galaxy, and the right midfielder admitted he enjoyed playing in the position.

“Bruce just said to me, ‘Do you want to try something different?’ We did and I think it worked well. We kept the ball well, we passed the ball around well and we created chances," said Beckham

“I’ve played that position a number of times before, whether it be for Man. United, Real Madrid and England,” he said. “I know that I can play that position.”
