England icon David Beckham leads the tributes to our heroic troops today as we prepare to salute them at this year's Sun Military Awards.
Becks said: "The Millies are our chance as a nation to celebrate the fantastic men and women of our Armed Forces.
"You are the best at what you do, we are proud of you and we will never forget the incredible effort and sacrifices you make on our behalf."
The football legend was speaking ahead of tonight's annual ceremony in London, which will be watched by millions on ITV1 at 9pm on Friday.
Beckham, who visited our forces in Afghanistan in May, was joined in his admiration by Prime Minister David Cameron, his deputy Nick Clegg and The X Factor winner Matt Cardle.
