Algunos articulos nuevos sobre David y Victoria. Disfruten!* It can't compare with America's fascination with Woods, but another savior of sorts will be changing course any day now. And while David Beckham's preference to remain in Italy won't pre-empt war and peace the way Woods' reappearance on tour will, it's going to have a negative impact on a league still fighting for identity and a healthy audience.Beckham, who is expected to receive his permanent transfer to AC Milan any day now, was responsible for what little star power there was to Major League Soccer. Two years ago, he came to the Los Angeles Galaxy with his wife, Posh, and created a tsunami of celebrity in the little pond of U.S. soccer. The excitement always seemed a little artificial, much like certain parts of Posh, who inexplicably was given her own network special - "Victoria Beckham: Coming to America."The Beckham influence was fleeting and shallow, but for one short, giddy moment, in a tribute to the power of hype, Beckham-mania actually created a small foothold.Ratings for MLS games, according to ESPN, were 67 percent higher in 2007 when Beckham was on the screen. Last year, Beckham's games reportedly drew 22 percent higher ratings than non-Galaxy games, and attracted 10,000 more per game on the road than any other MLS team. Now Beckham has made it clear that his American adventure is over. He meant so much to the MLS's image that ESPN is waiting for the other boot to drop before running ads for the coming season.
*FemaleFirst's Trend Predictions: Victoria Beckham may have once been a joke in the fashion world but she's proved them all wrong. The structured pieces she used in her first collection last season have cropped up elsewhere with Michael Kors and Donna Karan New York sending corseted dresses down the runway and Giles used structured, lampshade shape skirts.
