Confirmado!

head coach Bruce Arena confirmed to the media after the club’s victory over Chivas USA Saturday night that David Beckham would be traveling to Manchester to play in Gary Neville’s testimonial match Tuesday. Arena said he has given his blessing to the trip, which will see Beckham miss the Galaxy’s match Wednesday against the Houston Dynamo.

“So that decision’s been made, it’s my responsibility, so if you want to throw darts, the darts should be thrown at me,” Arena said.

Arena said he would have rested Beckham for the game anyway, since he has had a policy of rotating players when the team plays three matches in a week, as it will this week. Arena added that Beckham had been carrying an injury recently, which contributed to his plan to rest him.

“I do think it’s important to David to be there, given their relationship and the years they had together, those fabled years, and we thought it was important,” Arena said.

Beckham said Arena had told him he “felt it’s the right thing for me to do."

"Considering my relationship with Gary and the history between us, and the history I’ve got with Manchester United," Beckham said. "And also, he felt that he was going to rest me anyway and maybe put me on the bench (for) Wednesday game.”

Beckham went on to say he would probably play a very limited part in the friendly.

“It’ll be a walk on and play for a bit and walk off,” he said.

When asked what Sir Alex Ferguson’s response would have been had Beckham asked to miss a regular season game during his United career in order to play an exhibition in the United States, Beckham responded by saying the United boss would have let it happen.

“He would have done it, without a doubt," Beckham said. "Without a doubt. Because he knows the history, he knows that when you’ve played in a club for so many years and it’s special to all sorts of people—it’s soccer. It’s sports. You know people respect that.”

Beckham finished off his statements by saying there was no issue with the club at all.

“It’s not an issue because there’s no issue with our club, there’s no issue about management, there’s no issue about players,” he concluded. “The only issue would be from people who ask questions.”

The Beckhams are expected to stay in the States for a year after Posh's planned caesarian section on July 4, US Independence Day.

She was due to give birth in Britain but a pal said: "Victoria wants her daughter to be a US citizen. She will get a British passport too."

The couple, now in California where David, 36, plays for LA Galaxy, are looking at buying a home in New York where Posh, 37, has a fashion label

Earlier this year they thought about enrolling their three boys into a top London school. But the pal said: "Victoria especially has changed her mind."
