The American dream: Vogue US doesn't close doors to Victoria Beckham

article:Mail Online. By Katie Nicholl

Victoria Beckham's dream of gracing the cover of American Vogue may be about to become a reality.

The fashion bible’s editor, Anna Wintour, has revealed to me (Katie Nicholl) that she is a ‘big fan’ of the singer-turned-designer and that a cover shoot could be in the pipeline.

Victoria, 36, has already appeared on the cover of the British, Russian, German, Indian and, most recently, Turkish editions of Vogue.

Now it appears that years of trying to convince Wintour she is worthy of the coveted U.S. cover may be about to pay off for the former Posh Spice.

'Don't estimate her': American Vogue editor Anna Wintour on Victoria

‘We’re big fans of Victoria so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that we will put her on the cover,’ Wintour told me while in the front row of Nicole Farhi’s London Fashion Week show.

However, Wintour – known as ‘Nuclear Wintour’ because of her legendary frostiness – would not be drawn on a date for a shoot.

Fashion insiders say she was impressed with Victoria’s latest dress collection which she showed at New York Fashion Week. Wintour was quoted afterwards as saying: ‘Don’t underestimate her.’

Victoria went up in Wintour’s estimation after she had her implanted breasts reduced – taking her from a busty 34DD to a more fashionable B cup. Wintour had described the implants as ‘ridiculous’.

Wintour also let slip that Vogue’s European editor Hamish Bowles does an excellent impression of Victoria.

‘It is spot-on. Ask him to do it!’ she urged me. Sadly, Mr Bowles declined to give a rendition.

Wish there was any truth to this, but sadly i dont believe a word of it. And Wintour didnt say that after her collection, it was just stolen from that NYT article, which was like month before her show. Idiots!

ps: Would love it to be true though, sigh!
