Victoria Beckham was said to be shocked and upset last night after a £350,000 collection of new dresses was stolen in a knife-point hijack.
The designs, from the former Spice Girl's self-titled fashion line, were stolen from a lorry in a well-planned heist on Thursday.
The delivery, believed to include between 50 and 75 dresses, destined for sale at Neiman Marcus in New York, had been collected from the offices of 19 Entertainment, in west London, on Thursday.
It is believed the van may have been followed as part of a planned theft.
When the driver returned from making a delivery, the van's padlocks were broken and two men burst out of the back of the van carrying two large boxes of dresses.
The driver was left shaken and bruised as he was knocked down when the men barged past.
Mrs Beckham's spokeswoman said it was hoped the spring/summer collection could be remade in time for delivery to Neiman Marcus.
She said police were investigating the incident.
A source said: 'This operation was meticulously planned. The thieves must feel they can make a fortune selling the collection on the black market.

Victoria was informed straight away about the incident and was shocked and deeply saddened, although her first priority was the well-being of the driver's vehicle.

The Michelin-starred chef will be cooking roast turkey with all the trimmings at the England footballer’s Beckingham Palace mansion in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire.
And Ramsay says he will even be roping Mrs Beckham in to help.
Ramsay, wife Tana, 35, and their four children – Megan, 11, twins Jack and Holly, nine, and Matilda, seven – will enjoy Christmas Day, with Mr and Mrs Beckham and their three sons, Brooklyn, 10, seven-year-old Romeo and Cruz, four.

And with a party of 11 to feed, Ramsay insists he will even be roping in Mr and Mrs Beckham to help with the preparations.
Speaking for the first time of the two families' Christmas plans, Ramsay, 43, revealed: ‘Christmas Day is a big day and we are going to have lunch with David and Victoria. We’ll all be together.
He continued: ‘Whether it’s Victoria doing the roast or David carving the turkey or Tana making the sauce or me doing the Christmas pudding, we’ll all be helping each other.’
‘But it’s going to be mad. I’m sure it’s going to be pandemonium.'
Ramsay says Mrs Beckham will certainly not be helping with the turkey giblets, which she finds particularly distasteful
He said: ‘No, no she’s not very good at the gory parts. But it is very rare you find a turkey now with the giblets in it.’
