*David, the way you started being part of the team so quickly is surprising. What's the secret?
I'm surprised too. Sometimes it takes weeks, if not months, to understand what a team trains and plays like. I have to say that everybody tried to make me feel at ease and i was accepted very very nicely.

*What does AC Milan have that's really special, in your opinion?
I find it very similar to Manchester United. It has that tradition that only the biggest clubs own. You breathe a particular atmosphere everywhere: at training, at the stadium. And then they have that room full of trophies, it makes you feel special.

*Now we have to understand what your future will be. Will you go back to L or will you stay in Italy?
Playing here is every footballer's dream. But to decide isn't easy, it's a matter that takes time.

*But what's your wish?
I am under contract and i have a lot of respect for LA Galaxy. But to play here is something quite special... i was hoping i'd have fun but i wasn't expecting to have so much fun. But anyway as a person i'm very respectful.

*If you decided to go back, what mood would you be in to go back to that 'fake' football?
Actually americans are doing a lot to make their football's level and reputation better. It's still a young game over there, it'll take about 10 years to get anywhere important.

*And doesn't all this matter to you?
I have to admit that after having played in Europe, sometimes it's been frustrating to take part to some matches. But sometimes, going from state to state, i've had some fun.

*After 3 matches, what do you think about italian football, tactically speaking?
I have realized that to play here you have to be tactically good and to play for AC Milan you have to be even better than that. But i already knew your championship was very strong. Fabio Capello taught me quite a few things, he was my coach at Real Madrid and he taught me organization and discipline. Now he's bringing all that to the UK team.

*Fabio Capello, a real tough man.
But that's how great coaches are. Fabio has charisma, like Ferguson.

*But Ferguson threw a shoe at your face. Excessive charisma.
(Laughs) That was an accident. Those things can happen in the changing rooms.

*Who were the first people to find out about your goal against Bologna?
My wife. And my friends. I've watched it back many times, to see myself smiling so much, i looked about 15 years younger. I was surprised to realize i was that happy. My face surprised me. Usually i'm the first one celebrating when someone else scores.

*What are you doing to bond with the group but also to have some sort of social life?
Parlo italiano un'ora tutto i giorni (he said that in italian, it means he speaks italian one hour every day). And then i've gone out to dine with some team mates.

*What team mates?
Paolo (Maldini). He's an exceptional person. He helped me on and off the pitch, but i have a great relationship with everyone, not only with those who speak english.

*So you get on well with Gattuso.
Yes i do. It's incredible how hard he's working to recover from his injury.

*He's mad about football.
Every team needs someone like him. You need personalities in the changing rooms.

*During a match in November 2001, you were playing against each other, and at some point you threw yourself on the floor, and Gattuso told you "This is not a swimming pool"
We reminisced together, Rino is someone you don't like easily when you play against him. He's annoying, he never leaves you alone. I'll always remember that match, not only for Gattuso, but because it was my first as England's captain.

*Who's the funniest between your new teammates?
Gattuso, he speaks all the time and always has new jokes to say.

*Do they joke with you as well? Do they play tricks on you?
This morning we saw a picture in the paper, where Seedorf came to do something here, on my butt, after my goal. We laughed and jokes about it. Honestly i hadn't realized he had touched me but i'd be happy if he did again after another of my goals. Actually, he has the right to.

*Up close, which footballer surprised you the most?
Pirlo. I've always admired him, he's so talented. He's really special. And Kaka and Pato, too. Pato will be one of the best players in the world in a few years, just don't put pressure on him. And then there's Ronaldinho, i had played against him when i was in Spain, but to play with him is completely different. But the one i really wanted to play with was Maldini, for everything he represents.

*Did you feel observed the first time in the changing rooms?
I was nervous, like the first day at school. But the first emotion i felt it in December, when i came for the new jersey. My wife was sitting in front of me, and when i wore the jacket and saw the AC Milan logo, i kept on fixing it and staring at it almost in trance.

*And how's your life in Milan?
I spend most of my time at the hotel. And we work a lot... l'unica cosa mi manca la mia famiglia (again, he said it in Italian, the only thing i miss is my family). I have a very private life. I know people were expecting me to go to all these parties because that's what they say about me, but the other day i went to Armani's show and it was the 2nd time in 15 years.

*Do you know cotoletta?
Cotoletta? No i don't. But i love italian food. When my wife was pregnant with Brooklyn we came here and ate so much pasta.

*What about Ancelotti, your new coach?
He's very charismatic, when he steps into the changing room something big is bound to happen.

*You have a very famous wife. Who is more famous between the two? Be honest.
My wife is far more famous than me.

*Who rules in your house?
My kids.

*When you're under the shower, do you sing Spice Girls songs?
Of course.

*Which one in particular?
Mama.

*What music do you listen to?
Before a match i listen to Marc Anthony or some hip hop. Even some salsa music. But i don't dance.

*Why, can't you dance?
No, i'm actually good, but i don't do it often.

*Favourite italian singer?
That one that seems like he's singing opena...

*Andrea Bocelli?
Exactly. I have some of his CDs.

*Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, D&G, Armani... don't you have some non famous friends?
I have 3 i have known for 16 years. They live in London and came to see me play against Fiorentina.

*David Beckham, what will you do when you grow up?
I'll never grow up. My kids keep me young, although you have to teach your kids how to become more mature. When i stop playing i'll enjoy my family and the schools i have in LA, London and Brazil. I also love doing charity and i'm a Unicef ambassador. There, these are the things i like doing the most.

-Recordamos ese momento, Rino es una persona dificil de querer cuando juegas contra él. Es molesto, nunca te deja solo. Siempre me acordaré de ese partido, no solo por Gattuso, sino también porque fué mi primer juego como capitán de Inglaterra.

*Quién es el más gracioso entre tus compañeros?
-Gattuso, habla todo el tiempo y siempre tiene un chiste nuevo que decir.

*Dicen bromas contigo tambien? te juegan bromas?
-Esta mañana vimos una foto en el diario, donde Seedorf hizo algo a mi cola, luego del gol. Nos reímos e hicimos bromas sobre eso. Honestamente, no me habia dado cuenta que me habia tocado atrás pero estaria feliz si lo hiciera otra véz en otro de mis goles. De hecho, tiene mi permiso.

*De cerca, qué jugador te sorprendió?
-Pirlo. Siempre lo he admirado, es muy talentoso. Es realmente especial. Y Kaka y Pato también. Pato será uno de los mejores jugadores del mundo en unos años. Solo no lo presionen. *Y sobre tu nuevo entrenador, Ancelotti?
-Es muy carismático, cuando entra al vestuario algo grande está por pasar.

*Tienes una esposa muy famosa. Quién es más famoso de los dos? Sé honesto.
-Mi esposa es mucho más famosa que yo.

*Quien manda en tu casa?
-Mis hijos.

*Cuando tomas un baño, cantas canciones de las Spice Girls?
-Por supuesto.

*Cuál en particular?
- Mama.

*Qué tipo de musica escuchas?
-Antes de un partido escucho Marc Anthony o algo de hip hop. Incluso salsa. Pero no la bailo.

*Por qué, no puedes bailar?
-No, de hecho soy bueno, pero no lo hago frecuentemente.

-Ese que parece que canta opera...

Cuando deje de jugar, disfrutaré de mi familia y las escuelas de futbol que tengo en Londres, Brazil y LA. También me gusta hacer caridad y soy un embajador de Unicef.
