El astro inglés David Beckham se enamoró del Milan y está dispuesto, aún perdiendo dinero, a quedarse en el club italiano más allá del préstamo por dos meses y medio autorizado por Los Angeles Galaxy.
Lo revela hoy la prensa deportiva italiana, según la cual el jugador "se ha adaptado a la perfección" a Milan y ha alcanzado un "notable entendimiento" con sus compañeros, por lo que evalúa la posibilidad de no volver a Estados Unidos cuando el préstamo concluya.
Beckham tiene firmado con Galaxy un contrato válido hasta octubre, con lo que se convertirá entonces en jugador libre, pero estaría estudiando la eventualidad de resolverlo seis meses antes, aún teniendo que pagar el elevado precio de una fuerte indemnización.
Además de Milan, pesa la selección de Inglaterra que dirige Fabio Capello y que, para las próximas eliminatorias para el Mundial 2010, lo está siguiendo con atención y analizaría la posibilidad de volver a convocarlo.
Jugar el Mundial de Sudáfrica el año próximo, y más aún recuperar la capitanía de la selección inglesa, sería -según la prensa italiana- "una enorme tentación" para Beckham, consciente de que no podrá alcanzar ese objetivo volviendo a la mediocridad del fútbol estadounidense. The Italian sports daily Gazzetta Dello Sport ran a "Beckham Forever" headline across its front page Friday, claiming the former Manchester United star is loving life in Milan, is learning Italian and doesn't want to return to the United States.Beckham's loan deal only runs until March and he is believed to be willing to give up his five-year deal with LA Galaxy, which runs until 2011 and is reputedly worth in the region of $200 million, to ensure he retains his place in Fabio Capello's England squad for the 2010 World Cup.The midfielder has a clause in his contract with LA Galaxy which would allow him to move to Milan in the winter transfer window of 2010 but is reported to believe this to be too late as he would be almost 35.Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has started Beckham in both of his side's Serie A matches this year where he impressed by immediately integrating into the team.Beckham also won friends on Thursday when he visited former Milan striker Stefano Borgonovo, who is suffering from the paralyzing illness amyotrophic lateral sclerosis."David has a golden heart," said Ancelotti.

No one in America watches the MLS... that's common knowlegde. It's sad he's not appreciated 9 months of the year (the MLS season) I totally get the lure to go to Milan.
Can Milan buy out David's contract in LA? Ouch. $200 Million is a heafty price tag. Would LA even want to let David go? Probably not.
